Overview of the Course
The Supporting Children with Added Needs in Preschool Classroom Environment workshop at National Institute of Early Childhood Development NIEC focuses on providing support for children atting mnstream preschool centers who are identified as having additional needs or developmental delays. These children may participate concurrently in Early Intervention Programs and mnstream preschool learning programs. The workshop delves into understanding how to thoughtfully design supportive environments that cater to the diverse needs of these students, enabling teachers to effectively integrate these considerations into their dly educational activities.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Understand the Definition of Early Intervention in Preschool Settings: Gn insights on recognizing and implementing the principles of early intervention tlored for young children.

Gn Knowledge on Singapore's Continuous Support Frameworks: Learn about the comprehensive support system offered by the government from birth to age six years old, with a focus on how it integrates seamlessly into preschool environments.

Identify Common Challenges in Preschool Classrooms Serving Dual-Course Children: Discover common obstacles educators face when managing classrooms that have students enrolled in both early intervention and mnstream education programs simultaneously.

Apply Universal Design for Learning UDL Principles: Demonstrate the application of UDL principles to modify various areas within a preschool classroom to better accommodate children with additional needs.
Course Completion
Completion of this workshop will equip educators with strategies and insights necessary to create inclusive environments that enhance learning opportunities for all students, including those with special educational requirements.

Eligibility Requirements: This workshop is designed for professionals who:

Are employed at an early childhood education center accredited by the Early Childhood Development Agency ECDA.

Hold a recognized Level 2 qualification as certified by ECDA.

Possess a preschool education certificate or diploma approved by the NIEC.
